The Skills Network is proud to be working in partnership with the Project Management Institute (PMI) on their latest Project Management Skills Bootcamp programme. The Skills Network has created a programme of study that delivers targeted training and a ready-to-work talent pipeline for the project management sector.

What are Skills Bootcamps?

Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 12 weeks for learners living in England, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview or progress in their current role as part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee and Plan for Jobs, helping everyone gain skills for life. Skills Bootcamps also provide the perfect foundation and direct path towards higher education such as an apprenticeship.

Why do learners choose a Project Management Skills Bootcamp with The Skills Network?

As an award-winning e-learning provider, learners are guaranteed high-quality educational content and resources through expertly developed technology.

The Project Management Skills Bootcamp programme is available nationally. Learners will partake in a scenario-based journey that covers all of the core elements resulting in the immediate at-desk application of tools and techniques to improve project performance.

Over the 12-week programme, learners will cover 4 manageable units split into:

  • Project governance, leadership and professionalism
  • Stakeholder management and communication
  • Project management and control
  • Project contexts in different environments (Business and commercial)
  • Learners must be committed to learning 10-12 hours per week, which includes 5 hours of weekly live learning for up to 12 weeks. The live learning sessions are 5 hours of group face-to-face study with a project management tutor.

Skills Bootcamps candidates have a wide range of skills and experience and whilst some are best suited to entry level roles, there are others who could be suitable for higher level roles.

How can PMI members benefit from Project Management Skills Bootcamps?

When considering a candidate for a project management vacancy, employers can be assured that The Skills Network’s talent pipeline is of high quality.

All Skills Bootcamps learners will have already demonstrated their resilience and commitment to project management during the 12-week intensive programme. They will also undertake a Maths and English skills assessment to demonstrate their capabilities.

Should recruitment not be a key focus, PMI members also have a unique opportunity to raise their business profile by collaborating with The Skills Network to help shape and contribute to the curriculum for future project management training content.

The Skills Network is working with PMI to ensure that learners continue their learning journey beyond Skills Bootcamps and advance their project management certification with PMI.
