The talk aligns the audience by placing global emissions and a lack of effective response in a historical context. Speaker

Erik Dalhuijsen is petroleum engineer, climate change activist, sustainability engineer and an avid ocean sailor.  Following a masters in Physics the majority of Erik’s engineering career has been in the petroleum industry, from single-issue problems and projects through to integrated full-field development studies including CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage). In 2014 he branched out to sustainability, renewables and transition engineering, triggered by his study of Climate Change and the co-founding of Aberdeen Climate Action. He analyses, advises and speaks on energy, renewables and transition, and is currently starting up a non-profit which could radically improve Scotland’s approach to emissions reduction.
