Eigen Halpin shares her inspiring career pivot from IT and Telecoms into aviation programme management. Starting as a young woman in a male-dominated industry, Eigen found confidence and structure through PMI methodologies—advice from early mentors at Alcatel-Lucent led her to pursue her PMP, a decision she never regretted. Over the years, she progressed into senior roles, including PMO Leader North Europe and Programme Director at Cisco, where she embraced agile practices and pursued the PgMP. After 20+ years in IT, company restructuring became her catalyst for reinvention. Energised by the opportunity, Eigen researched new industries and was drawn to aviation. Her story highlights how PMI certifications and principles serve as a universal language across industries. She’ll share lessons learned, challenges faced, and the highs and lows of her journey—demonstrating how purpose, resilience, and professional discipline can fuel transformation.

Eigen Halpin discovered her passion for project and programme management early in her career and built it from the grassroots level. She has 20+ years experience leading strategic, high-impact programmes across IT, Telecoms, and now aviation. She held key PMO and programme leadership roles at Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia and Cisco, before joining Safran. Eigen relishes physical challenges—having completed the London Marathon, a 37-mile ultra marathon, and numerous half marathons—she brings the same tenacity, discipline, and determination to every programme she leads.
