Despite advances in programme management, governance and benefits management, well-designed programmes can still struggle to realise the value they were intended to create. Why?

This webinar explores whether part of the answer lies beyond methodologies and delivery frameworks, within the organisational conditions that shape behaviour, decision making and what becomes legitimate throughout programme delivery.

The session introduces the Behavioural Theory of Value Realisation, a practitioner-led perspective on how organisational conditions shape behaviour and influence whether intended value is ultimately realised.

Rather than proposing another framework or methodology, the session invites practitioners to examine a familiar challenge from a different perspective: how can capable people, working within well-governed programmes, make entirely rational decisions and still contribute to outcomes that diverge from the original intent?

Through practical examples, interactive polling and facilitated discussion, participants will be encouraged to test this perspective against their own experience. The session will explore the role of organisational conditions, behavioural adaptation and the signals that influence what becomes visible, prioritised and regarded as legitimate during programme delivery.

Participants will leave with a different way of thinking about the gap between successful delivery and realised value, together with questions they can apply to their own programmes and organisations.

Speaker

Onalethata Tambula |PMP|CAPM| DASM| is a Board Member of the PMI UK Chapter, where she serves as Director of Finance, Digital Events & AI. She is also Manager for National Productivity & Efficiency Programmes at NHS England.

Drawing on her experience across complex programmes and transformation, Onalethata has developed a particular interest in the relationship between programme delivery and value realisation. Her practitioner led work explores how organisational conditions and behaviour influence whether programmes realise their intended value.
