PMI UK Webinar: The Human Skills Project Professionals Need in the Age of AI. 26th January 2027

About this event

AI can rewrite your project plan overnight. But it can’t make a threatened stakeholder trust you, persuade a reluctant sponsor to speak honestly, or stop a team quietly resisting a change they never really bought into.

And when those human dynamics go unaddressed, faster technology can simply mean faster mistakes, more rework and greater costs.
As technology gets better, what do project professionals need to get better at?

This practical, thought-provoking webinar explores why Human Skills are becoming more valuable, not less, as AI reshapes project delivery. Drawing on behavioural research and more than three decades of organisational experience, Dr Andrea and Jonathan Taylor-Cummings will examine the capabilities that help project professionals turn technological advances into better decisions, stronger collaboration and meaningful project outcomes.

As AI accelerates analysis and delivery, project professionals need the judgement and relational skills to challenge assumptions, navigate resistance and ensure faster decisions lead to better outcomes, particularly when pressure is high and authority is limited.

Participants will be introduced to The 4 Habits® as a practical way to navigate automatic, defensive reactions, challenge assumptions and choose more constructive responses under pressure.

Through relatable examples and guided reflection, participants will identify one conversation or stakeholder relationship where a different response could reduce friction and improve delivery.

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Recognise their Human Skills “superpower moment” – when judgement,
trust or influence makes the difference between project activity and genuine
engagement / momentum.
2. Identify the Human Skills that matter more as AI advances – and why
technology alone cannot secure stakeholder commitment.
3. Navigate stakeholder defensiveness more effectively – understand what
may be driving resistance and respond in ways that build trust, reduce friction
and keep projects moving.
4. Apply one practical behaviour to move from defensiveness or assumption
towards curiosity, constructive dialogue and stronger project outcomes.

Speakers

Dr Andrea and Jonathan Taylor-Cummings are the co-founders of The 4 Habits Institute, helping leaders and teams stabilise relationships, build trust, strengthen communication and deliver well together, even under pressure.

Drawing on more than 30 years of organisational and behavioural experience, their work sits at the intersection of pressure, relationships and outcomes – helping organisations address the human dynamics and build the relational infrastructure that supports strong delivery when stakes are high and environments are complex.

They recently delivered a keynote session for the BBC Project & Change Management 2026 Conference exploring the relational side of delivery under pressure, and their TEDx talk on The 4 Habits of All Successful Relationships has been viewed more than 3.7 million times globally.
