Join us for the PMI UK Mentoring-led Event – an inspiring opportunity to connect with experienced project professionals and fellow members who are passionate about professional development.
This event will support you to get feedback on your coaching skills used in mentoring, offering insights into how mentors and mentees can build meaningful relationships to achieve aims.
Attendees will get
- Access to the new online course (need to complete before attendance)
- Practice with peers which John and Shirley will facilitate.
- The chance for reflection on practice.
Whether you are a new or experienced mentor this practice brings the opportunity for personal development, including working on yourself in bringing a topic (or two) to be coached on oneself.
Come say hello 12-12.30 for networking, Q&A, review of the course etc. Practice starts at 12,30 and will need your undivided attention. Please commit at least to one practice session (12,30-2pm), but ideally to the second as well (2.30-4)
Speakers
Shirley Thompson was a project manager in the last few years of her 30+year tech career with IBM, and since 2005 has been a professional coach, achieving a doctorate in coaching and mentoring, conferred in 2018. She is a coach supervisor and mentor for students of The Coaching Academy, as part of a small coaching practice, though her focus is increasingy supporting project professionals.
Responsible Conversation has based on the work of Shirley’s doctorate and is part of Responsible Project Management (responsiblepM.com) The idea aims to help leaders strengthen their conversation and relationahip skills to achieve better collaboration with stakeholders.
John Chisholm is the founder of Crescente Ltd and an experienced organisational development consultant, coach and facilitator. He has worked with leaders, managers and project professionals across a wide range of sectors, helping them develop the skills needed to lead people through complexity and change. A long-standing contributor to PMI’s mentoring programme, John specialises in coaching, mentoring and dialogue-based approaches to leadership.
