The PMI UK Chapter is pleased to announce that our next event will be in Leeds and hosted by the Government Project Delivery Profession at the offices of the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
At this meeting we will be inviting a number of CIO's to take to the floor, and having shared their views on Project Management, invite questions from the audience. It's going to be an interesting evening!
Tom Clark, Chief Information Officer Leeds Building Society
Tom has combined changing roles regularly (at one stage changing every 18 months) and travelling extensively in a number of global position, as well as living in the UK, Switzerland and America. Tom has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance, and a Master’s degree in IT Management, is an avid supporter of the British Computer Society and is proud to be recognised as a BCS Fellow and as a Chartered IT Professional (CITP). Tom was a finalist in the UK IT Industry Awards as CIO of the Year, regularly placed in various top 100 CIOs lists, winning a number of industry awards for technology innovation and agile delivery. Tom has managed a number of PMOs and has held responsibility for improving project management tools, processes and delivery quality.
Dave has over 15 years at CIO level. He has been instrumental in delivering digital transformation at a number of multinational organisations including examples which encompassed 30 countries, multiple language groups and business cultures. Dave holds an MA in Leading Innovation and Change awarded from York St John University in 2013. He has also been recognised as a leading UK CIO and named in the CIO 100 in 2014, 2017 and 2018.
Toby Smith-Firth, Group IT Director Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate
Toby has worked in IT for 30 years, starting out with a Saturday job in Dixons he then took an IT helpdesk summer job and has been working in IT ever since.
Toby has a broad spectrum of industry experience including retail, manufacturing, telecoms, hi technology, publishing and the public sector. He has a proven track record of keeping the lights on, delivering customer-centric IT-enabled change and aligning IT with organisational strategies. He has been successful in transforming IT delivery capability, leveraging an effective combination of his strong technology credentials, combined with global consultancy experience and an unfaltering focus on the customer’s needs and business commercials. Toby has a strong programme delivery background, has built and managed PMO functions and is passionate about portfolio management as a business enabler.
