PMI London Event
Powerful Lessons from the World's Toughest Yacht Race
25th April 2017 at 6.45pm
The Hatton, 51-53 Hatton Garden, Farringdon, London, EC1N 8HN
Main Speaker: Tony Botterill
Sailing provides the perfect metaphor for business. There are so many powerful analogies connecting the leader and team sailing experience with business success.
Aboard a high-performance racing yacht, we discover that high quality team interaction is dependent upon clear direction, good communication, well defined roles and responsibilities, effective implementation, openness and trust.
Complex systems on board must be assimilated and external influences, such as weather and tides, are beyond our control and force a change of tactics, strategy and influence behaviour.
Tony Botterill, round-the-world yachtsman, project manager and consultant, explores and exploits these analogies in the perfect team environment, aboard an ocean racing yacht competing in the ‘World’s Toughest Yacht Race’.
Fundamental and practical high performance team lessons will be shared and brought to life through this roller-coaster of a story that has helped hundreds of operations, functions and project teams boost their performance.
