Michel Thiry - PMI Fellow, Author and PMI SeminarsWorld® Leader

Imagine the day your CEO is a PM - The future of Project-Based Organisations.

The Situation

“How can we unleash the potential of Project Management for organisations?”

When asked this question at the Milan PMI EMEA Global Congress 2010, Greg Balestrero, the CEO of PMI, answered: “Projects, programs and portfolio need to be seen as a whole, not as discrete areas of the business and to be truly effective, portfolio management should cover all business activities, not just projects.”

And now what?

  • How can we integrate projects, programs, portfolios and PMOs within organisations to make them more competitive?
  • How will it affect your project space and your roles and responsibilities as practitioners?

The Webinar

We will first examine how the current business environment confirms the need for project-based organisations to be better integrated. We will then see how a project approach can help organisations and how it affects knowledge, skills and attitude requirements of project, program portfolio or PMO managers. Finally, we will look at how organisations can successfully integrate all the project disciplines and create a cohesive management approach to deal with the current turbulent business environment.

Learning Objectives

When the session is completed, the participants will understand:

  1. How project management is more and more integrated in organisations
  2. How this trend requires a rethinking of the whole project approach
  3. How this can contribute to making organisations more competitive
  4. How it will change the way you manage your project, program, portfolio or PMO.
